Michelle Alexander

is an acclaimed civil rights lawyer and advocate, legal scholar, and author of the best-selling book The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness. She is currently a visiting professor at Union Theological Seminary and an opinion columnist for the New York Times.
